STILL-LIFES

Sometimes I just get a kick out of some small object. I have always collected shells, rocks, pods, strange little artifacts that are usually, but not always, from the natural world.

These paintings are about beauty and curiosity and wonder. Here, the stuffed animals have been replaced by more typical still-life objects, which I approach with the same sense of iconography. I aim to get into the soul of the thing, and not just the surface.
